Taxonomy
Oscillatoriopsis glabra was named by Xu (1984). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Jixian, which is in a Calymmian peritidal dolomite in the Gaoyuzhuang Formation of China.
