Taxonomy
Terebratula livonica was named by von Buch (1834). It is the type species of Ripidiorhynchus.

It was recombined as Rhynchonella livonica by Kindle (1907); it was recombined as Ripidiorhynchus livonicus by Sartenaer (1966).
