Taxonomy
Anisonchus agapetillus was named by Cope (1884). Its type specimen is AMNH 3557, a mandible (fragment of right dentary containing m1-2), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Oxyacodon agapetillus by Matthew (1897), Hay (1902), Simpson (1937), Matthew (1937), Van Valen (1978), Archibald (1982), Archibald et al. (1983), Eberle and Lillegraven (1998).
