Euceratherium was named by Furlong and Sinclair (1904). It is not extant.

It was assigned to Caprinae by Kurten and Anderson (1980); and to Bovidae by Furlong and Sinclair (1904), Schultz and Howard (1935), Stovall (1937) and Carroll (1988).
