Taxonomy
Purgatorius janisae was named by Van Valen (1994). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Garbani 13-NW Harley’s High (UCMP V73080), which is in a Pu3 terrestrial sandstone in the Fort Union Formation of Montana.
