Mongolemys elegans

Taxonomy
Mongolemys elegans was named by Khosatzky and Mlynarski (1971). Its type specimen is PIN 551-422/1 (=ZIN RN T/M-46.1), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsagan Hushu, tortoise layer [PMPE], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Mongolemys.
