Actinaraea was named by d'Orbigny (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: J Sine K Apti Sepkoski's reference number: 819,821,825,919]. It is not extant. Its type is Agaricia granulata.
It was assigned to Actinacididae by Roniewicz (1976) and Turnsek (1997); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Haplaraeidae by Baron-Szabo (2021).
