Taxonomy
Omphalocirridae was named by Wenz (1938) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5270]. Its type is Omphalocirrus.

It was assigned to Macluritoidea by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975); to Onychochiloidea by Jeffery (2003); and to Euomphaloidea by Linsley and Kier (1984), Bouchet et al. (2005) and Wagner (2023).
