Anthostylis was named by Roniewicz (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 919]. It is not extant. Its type is Anthostylis acanthophora.
It was assigned to Stylophyllidae by Stanley and Gonzalez-Leon (1997); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
