Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
J. B. Knight 1941Rather large, probably widely phaneromphalous, discoidal gastropods with a sharply angular juncture of the upper and outer whorl faces; whorl profile sloping rather strongly upward and outward from the upper suture to the crest of the angulation which is said to be “ narrowly truncate horizontally, but there is no evidence to liken this to a slit band” , passing downward from the angulation across the outer whorl face with a well-marked outward component, seemingly turning roundly into the base; sutures said to be rather deep; nucleus unknown, but inner whorls said to be “ nearly flat and coiled in one plane” perhaps due to pressure; base seemingly rounded, seemingly with a single revolving costa, and seemingly rather widely phaneromphalous but said to be “ flat and non-telescopic” ; apertural margins unknown; ornamentation and shell characters unknown. The holotype seemingly has a width (diameter) of about 52 mm.
