Cymbularia aequalis was named by Koken and Perner (1925) [Cymbularia aequalis Koken in Koken & Perner 1925]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Koila, which is in a Pirgu carbonate limestone in the Adila Formation of Estonia.
