Taxonomy
Shelbyoceras robustum was named by Ulrich and Foerste (1936). Its type specimen is USNM 92694, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is M.S.M. locality 74.51, near Palmer, which is in a Trempealeauan carbonate dolomite in the Eminence Formation of Missouri. It is the type species of Shelbyoceras.
