Bellerophon bullatus was named by Koken and Perner (1925) [Bellerophon bullatus Koken in Koken & Perner 1925]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cymbularia bullatus by Ebbestad and Yochelson (2000), Wagner (2023).
