Taxonomy
Bellerophon lyra was named by Hall (1859). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Patellilabia (Phragmosphaera) lyra by Blodgett et al. (1999); it was recombined as Phragmosphaera lyra by Knight (1945), Rollins et al. (1971), Peel (1977) and Wagner (2023).
