Taxonomy
Tripneustes pregratilla was named by McNamara and Kendrick (1994). Its type specimen is WAM 82.326. Its type locality is Poivre Fm, The Ledge, which is in a Miocene shallow subtidal limestone in the Poivre Formation of Australia.
