Argochampsa krebsi

Taxonomy
Argochampsa krebsi was named by Hua and Jouve (2004). Its type specimen is OCP DEK-GE 1201, a skull (nearly complete skull, with mandibular fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grand Daoui area [Couche II], which is in a Danian/Thanetian marine horizon in the Couche II Formation of Morocco. It is the type species of Argochampsa.

Jouve 2004Rostrum about 70% of median length of the skull, 5 premaxillary alveoli and 26 maxillary alveoli, premaxilla transversally broad and strongly bent downwards, with first three alveoli forming a transverse row, diastema between the fourth and fifth premaxillary alveoli, nasals fused, one external foramen between maxilla and jugal, frontal modestly penetrates the supratemporal fenestra, paroccipital processes form two postero-laterally directed long narrow points.
