Type specimen: MCT 4419M, a maxilla (a fragment of left maxilla with P3-M2 (moderate to advanced wear)). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
