Type specimen: CM 963, a set of postcrania (2 vertebrae, a pubis, 1 atlantal rib, one first dorsal rib, numerous osteoderms). Its type locality is Willow Creek (CM), which is in a Campanian/Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Judith River Formation of Montana.
