Sister taxa: Acutichiton gracilis, Acutichiton nevadensis, Acutichiton pyrmidalus

Type specimen: OSU 36971, a valve (head plate). Its type locality is Gullies south of pond dam, 250 meters north of the Lost Creek Cemetery, 0.4 km east of Highway 59 and 8.3 km northeast of Jacksboro, which is in a Virgilian marine horizon in the Graham Formation of Texas.

Ecology: facultatively mobile epifaunal grazer

Distribution: found only at Gullies south of pond dam, 250 meters north of the Lost Creek Cemetery, 0.4 km east of Highway 59 and 8.3 km northeast of Jacksboro
