Sister taxon: Ophiurites pustulosus
Type specimen: unknown, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Gerhardtsreiter Graben, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate marl in the Gerharsreit Formation of Germany.
Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal detritivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Gerhardtsreiter Graben
