Sister taxa: Notoemys oxfordiensis, Notoemys tlaxiacoensis, Notoemys zapatocaensis

Type specimen: MACN 18043, a partial shell (carapace and anterior plastral lobe). Its type locality is Las Lajas (MACN), which is in a Tithonian terrestrial horizon in the Vaca Muerta Formation of Argentina.
