Sister taxa: Hyla arborea, Hyla baderi, Hyla barbudensis, Hyla cinerea, Hyla goini, Hyla gratiosa, Hyla miocenica, Hyla squirella, Hyla versicolor
Type specimen: Brit. Mus. No. 30267, a skeleton (impression of a skeleton with some bone fragments adhering). Its type locality is Rott, which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - small shale in Germany.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Rott
