Sister taxa: Hyla arborea, Hyla baderi, Hyla cinerea, Hyla europaea, Hyla goini, Hyla gratiosa, Hyla miocenica, Hyla squirella, Hyla versicolor
Type specimen: UF 2752 (right ilium). Its type locality is Barbuda Cave 1, which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene cave horizon in Antigua and Barbuda.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Barbuda Cave 1
