Type specimen: CBI 42, a maxilla (right juvenile maxillary fragment with a fragment of DP3 and complete DP4-M2). Its type locality is Jebel Chambi, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian lacustrine limestone in the Chambi Formation of Tunisia.
