Type specimens:
- Calyptaulax callirachis: USNM 116535a, a cephalothorax. Its type locality is Loc. 3. south side of road, 0.2 mile east of Strasburg Junction, which is in a Turinian carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.
- Calliops loxorachis: USNM 116495c, a pygidium.
