Type specimen: C.M. zfr 108, a partial skeleton (disarticulated skull, cervical vertebrae, and ribs). Its type locality is Waipara River, upstream from Laidmore Bridge (M3/f9254), which is in a Maastrichtian offshore sandstone in the Conway Formation of New Zealand.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore
