Sister taxa: Khoratpithecus chiangmuanensis, Khoratpithecus piriyai

Type specimen: MFI-K171, a mandible (left hemi-mandible with P3-M2). Its type locality is Khoratpithecus ayeyarwadyensis Site, which is in a Tortonian terrestrial sandstone in the Irrawaddy Formation of Myanmar.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution: found only at Khoratpithecus ayeyarwadyensis Site
