Sister taxa: Khoratpithecus ayeyarwadyensis, Khoratpithecus chiangmuanensis
Type specimen: RIN 765, a mandible (incomplete mandibular corpora). Its type locality is Somsak Sand Pit, which is in a Miocene fluvial sandstone/claystone in Thailand.
Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore
Distribution: found only at Somsak Sand Pit
