Type specimen: TF 6171, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Ban Sa, which is in a MN 7 + 8/MN 9 mire/swamp lignite/mudstone in Thailand.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution: there are no occurrences of Khoratpithecus chiangmuanensis in the database
