Fantus schoolhousensis Yeh 1987 (radiolarian)

Protozoa - Nassellaria - Hsuidae

Original description: Test as with genus, relatively narrow, with slightly stricture at joints and with six to seven post-abdominal chambers. Cephalis broadm dome-shaped, often with small nodes. Cephalis and most part of thorax imperforate, covered with layer of microgranular silica. Abdomen and post-abdominal chambers consisting of linearly aligned small tetragonal pore frames. Final post-abdominal chamber decreasing in width rapidly.

Original remarks: Fantus schoolhousensis n. sp. differs from Broctus ruesti n. sp. by having a narrower, elongater test with smaller pore frames without massive costae.

Etimology: This species is named for the Schoolhouse Gulch, near its type locality.
