Sister taxa: Osmia antiqua, Osmia bruneri, Osmia carbonum, Osmia gaudiosa
Type specimen: ETH Pl. I, 719, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Oeningen (Zurich collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Oeningen (Zurich collection)
