Belongs to Sthenurus according to Wells and Tedford 1995
Sister taxa: Sthenurus andersoni, Sthenurus murrayi, Sthenurus notabilis, Sthenurus tindalei
Type specimen: SAM P22533, a skeleton (nearly-complete adult skeleton). Its type locality is Lake Callabonna Fossil Reserve, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia.
Ecology: scansorial omnivore
Distribution:
• Quaternary of Australia (6 collections)
• Pliocene of Australia (1)
Total: 7 collections each including a single occurrence
