Sister taxa: Parnasos dissimilis, Parnasos pessimus
Type specimen: PIN 3064/9680, an exoskeleton (male fly). Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064, bed 31), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl/siltstone in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation.
