Type specimens:
- Anthracosiro woodwardi: Its type locality is Coseley, near Dudley (Johnson coll), which is in a Westphalian B interdistributary bay shale in the United Kingdom
- Anthracosiro corsini: Its type locality is Noeux, pit 11, roof of passage above vein 13, which is in a Westphalian B terrestrial shale in France.
- Anthracosiro latipes: Its type locality is Brickworks near Crawcrook, which is in a Westphalian B delta plain shale in the United Kingdom.
