Sister taxa: Caipirasuchus mineirus, Caipirasuchus paulistanus, Caipirasuchus stenognathus

Type specimen: MPMA 15-001/90, a skull (Skull and mandible). Its type locality is Bairro Cachoeira, Monte Alto, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian fluvial sandstone in the Adamantina Formation of Brazil.
