Belongs to Liaobatrachus according to L. Dong et al. 2013
Sister taxa: Liaobatrachus beipiaoensis, Liaobatrachus grabaui, Liaobatrachus macilentus
Type specimen: IVPP V14979.1, a skeleton (Nearly complete, three-dimensionally preserved skeleton). Its type locality is Qianyangou, Lujiatun village, which is in a Barremian/Aptian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Qianyangou, Lujiatun village
