Sister taxa: Aspenites acutus, Aspenites kamurensis, Aspenites radiatus
Type specimen: NIGP 20074. Its type locality is Majiashan, Caoxian (lower Biandanshan Mb), which is in a Spathian basinal (carbonate) claystone in the Biandanshan Formation of China.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Majiashan, Caoxian (lower Biandanshan Mb)
