Sister taxa: Yuomys cavioides, Yuomys eleganes, Yuomys huheboerhensis, Yuomys minggangensis, Yuomys weijingensis, Yuomys yunnanensis
Type specimen: SDM 84001, a maxilla. Its type locality is Dong Huangzhuang, which is in an Eocene terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Huangzhuang Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Dong Huangzhuang
