Type specimen: LACM 131146, a skull. Its type locality is Twin River Quarry, which is in a Chattian basinal (siliceous) mudstone in the Pysht Formation of Washington.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Twin River Quarry
