Sister taxa: Fucaia buelli, Fucaia goedertorum
Type specimen: UWBM 109363, a partial skull (posterior portion of a skull with right periotic and bulla attached, partial mandible, and the hyoid apparatus). Its type locality is Middle Fork of Statsop River, west bank, which is in a Priabonian basinal (siliceous) mudstone/siltstone in the Lincoln Creek Formation of Washington.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Middle Fork of Statsop River, west bank
