Sister taxa: Galileomys antelucanus, Galileomys colloncurensis, Galileomys eurygnathus
Type specimen: MPEF-PV 10676, a mandible (left mandibular fragment with p4-m2, root of m3, and incisor). Its type locality is Cabeza Blanca, which is in a Deseadan terrestrial shale/claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Cabeza Blanca
