Sister taxa: Metanchilophus castrensis, Metanchilophus chaubeti, Metanchilophus depereti, Metanchilophus dumasi, Metanchilophus radegondensis

Type specimen: MGL LM-12/2335, a maxilla (fragment of left maxilla with M2/-M3). Its type locality is Mormont Eclepens, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial horizon in Switzerland.

Ecology: ground dwelling frugivore-folivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of France (8 collections), Switzerland (3)

Total: 11 collections each including a single occurrence
