Sister taxon: Siphusauctum gregarium
Type specimen: KUMIP 135150 (obovate calyx-like upper part). Its type locality is Siphusauctum lloydguntheri type locality in Antimony Canyon, which is in a Steptoean deep subtidal shelf shale in the Langston Formation of Utah.
Distribution: found only at Siphusauctum lloydguntheri type locality in Antimony Canyon
