Belongs to Sinemys according to S. Ji and X. Chen 2018
Sister taxa: Sinemys brevispinus, Sinemys gamera, Sinemys lens
Type specimen: IG 13051, a partial shell (partial carapace). Its type locality is Hadetu, Chabu Sumu Site II, which is in a Barremian lacustrine horizon in the Jingchuan Formation of China.
Ecology: aquatic omnivore
Distribution: found only at Hadetu, Chabu Sumu Site II
