Sister taxa: Fundulus curryi, Fundulus davidae, Fundulus eulepis

Type specimen: University of Kansas Museum of Vertebrate Paleontology, no. 848F, a skeleton. Its type locality is Rhino Hill Quarry, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Ogallala Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: nektonic omnivore

Distribution: found only at Rhino Hill Quarry
