Sister taxa: Actinosepia canadensis, Actinosepia mapesi
Type specimen: YPM 24809. Its type locality is YPM A673, NNE of Green Grass, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone in the Fox Hills Formation of South Dakota.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Cretaceous of United States (3: South Dakota collections)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
