Type specimen: UMPE 443, a partial shell (an almost complete carapace with a relatively good preservation and a poorly preserved plastron). Its type locality is Santiago Yolomécatl, Iniyoo Local Fauna, which is in a Bartonian/Rupelian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/chert in the Yolomécatl Formation of Mexico.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-herbivore
Distribution: found only at Santiago Yolomécatl, Iniyoo Local Fauna
