Sister taxa: Piltonia (Piltonia), Piltonia balor, Piltonia carlakertisae, Piltonia eurybathrea, Piltonia kuehnei

Type specimen: GS 86984, a pygidium. Its type locality is Bed marked by Chonetes cf. buchiana, right bank, Avon Gorge, which is in a Hastarian carbonate limestone in the Palate Formation of the United Kingdom.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
