Belongs to Piltonia according to D. K. Brezinski 2000
Sister taxa: Piltonia (Piltonia), Piltonia balor, Piltonia eurybathrea, Piltonia fryi, Piltonia kuehnei
Type specimen: CM 45742, a cephalon/head. Its type locality is Apache Hill, Sierra, which is in an Osagean deep subtidal shelf wackestone in the Lake Valley Formation of New Mexico.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
Distribution: found only at Apache Hill, Sierra
