Type specimen: LACM 6106, a partial skeleton (partial skull with associated partial dentaries and forelimb elements). Its type locality is Nettle Spring Canyon (LACM 6106), which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Caliente Formation of California.
Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser
Distribution: found only at Nettle Spring Canyon (LACM 6106)
